Federico Fellini (1920-1993)
Fellini, a former cartoonist, collaborated on some of Roberto
Rossellini's scripts and his earlier films show his influence
from the Neo-Realist movement. It didn't take very long for his flamboyant
persomal style to emerge, along with his fondness for autobiographical
references. Provocative, extravagant and often bizarre, Fellini's films
were notable for their striking beauty and intellectual depth. Thorough
his carreer, he strove to extend the potential of cinema to explore the
processes of creation, society and the mind.
